For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the feeling of discomfort that comes from witnessing something uncannily life-like, or someone uncannily object-like. In this series, I sought to explore that ineffable disquiet. In these images, the living appear mannequin-like, the human appear animal, and the dead appear alive.  The glass barriers of display cases and screens separate us from the spectacle of still, hyper-realistic representations of something living. With these photos, I aim to blur the lines between human and animal, domestic and feral, being and object, voyeur and spectacle, and animate and inanimate.
